 morning: woke up sleepy still. from 6 am onward i only slept in 30 minute intervals. it was awful. if it wasn't the sunlight coming through the window it was the sounds of what must have been a new subway being built right under my window.  once i woke up i checked my emails and got ready for work.  also! after talking with r and her list of morning things i felt compelled to do some yoga. i really didn't want to but i know i need it and if i can't use peer pressure for positive things, what is it good for? afternoon: i was planning on working at home all day but i got asked for a favor in the office. that plus i asked r to give me a ride so i could go and buy blackout curtains. i couldn't get over the bad sleep.  before heading into work i cooked lunch. frozen veggies with chicken. not bad. but i did "cook" everything in the microwave and it's just not as tasty as it could have been.  at work things went pretty alright. did some things but not all the th...

a weekend disappeared! and snow adventures!

 where the fuck did saturday go?! i need another one right now. morning: woke up hella early to be ready for 9am pick-up. r would pass by my house and we would head on out to the skiing lodge (is it an actual lodge?). so i got ready and got dressed and got prettied up. i made some french press coffee. unfortunately just as it finished brewing r arrived. i quickly poured the coffee down my gullet and headed out to the door.  she was already playing t. swift as i got in the car. we drove through beautiful white fields while chatting about life, music and the perils of my decision to snowboard over skiing. "it's not too late you know? if you take some skis i'll make sure you are running down blues by the end of the day". the offer was very tempting but i had already made up my mind to try out snowboarding. partly because i wanted to redeem myself for all that pain 15 years ago and partly because of e. i think she usually feels the least capable member of her alpine group...

old prose! almost 15 years ago?

  Lucius John was moving into his new apartment. His third since he got Lucius the squirrel. Lucius had been a gift from his ex-girlfriend, a break-up present if you will. It was all brown save for a "racing" white stripe that ran from the tip of his nose all the way to the tip of his short little tail. John figured he had a short tail due to an accident or something similar, it ended abruptly, as if his maker had ran out of bushy strands. He never asked Patty where she got the squirrel, he was more concerned about her leaving him than the squirrel, and always wondered if she had always carried it in her car, waiting for that moment. He could have let the squirrel go, put in a park or a sewer, and save himself a lot of trouble but something did not let him. John kept Lucius through the loss of friends and lovers and, after being thrown out of two apartments buildings, he had finally found an adequate one. It was a loft, with high ceilings and plenty of space for Lucius. ...
